They say that there are plenty of troops in the military and that the services are not stretched too thin.

This is why Black water is hiring.

Why is it that we are paying huge amounts to a private company to do what used to be the armies job?

Could it be that to recruit new solders would be to admit that it won’t be a 6 month war and that our commander in chief was wrong?

Or could it be that those who received non bid contracts have some connection to the people who gave them the non bid jobs?

We can only guess who will have a seat on the board of directors of these companies when this administration has been removed from office.

The fact that Halliburton was building military camps six months before the suggestion of a war has nothing to do with premeditated destruction of the relative peace in the region for increases in oil profits. But I digress.

Apparently those with our money feel if we pay Black water for their services that we aren’t paying for the equipment costs or the training of the personnel, which from incidents in the news hasn’t involved how to avoid shooting civilians of the country which in the governments words we are trying to make peace with.

This is absurd. If there is a problem with the requirements of acquiring the needed resources causing the price to be excessive then fix that problem which is also causing the same trouble with existing needs.

But if those requirements are there to prevent the issues currently inflicting the Blackwater services then possibly the cost savings are not worth it.

So what is the problem that prevents the U.S. armed forces from providing the support that the Constitution expected of them? Was it the base closings that are preventing us from training new people to fill those needs? Is it the promise of excessive pay with very little consequences working for Backwater that prevents them from re-enlisting with the armed forces?

Would we actually have a better and less costly military if private contractors we not allowed for military operations?

Would it prevent the damage to the effort if those contractors were held to the same military laws when doing those jobs originally expected from the armed forces?

When are we going to disarm our private militias and return the job of protecting our diplomats and citizens from harm?
