How many Terry Schivos were there whose family's were nervously watching while trying to deal with their own daughter or son in the same situation as Terry? A tragic semi life they had to let go of.
How many people are killed outside the country the day they highlight a pretty young blond girl doing stupid things in a foreign country that she wouldn't do at home ?
When is the last time they did a daily tally of the drive by shootings that happened?
Or the number that died of AIDs or starvation or war in the world?
Or the number of births to young single mothers, deaths from disease or suicides?
There is plenty of bad things in the world to report on, and plenty of good things also, but from the stories they show over and over you would think there was nothing else happening in the world.
Would we get more actual news if the FCC did not allow a few companies to own the majority of the press?
Or is it that news is simply another money business and if you have a story it is cheaper to re write it and re package it over and over than it is to write new stories that inform with facts rather than the opinions that don't need confirmation like the forged papers that killed Dan Rathers 60 Minutes career?
Have you noticed they avoid asking the Bush Gang the tough questions ?
Possibly it has to do with the fear that they will be denied access like the lady reporter that did ask the right questions about Bushs war and after 20 years as a White house reporter was no longer welcome there.
But then is it news in itself that the Bush Gang attacks people that asks truthful questions?
Remember when the air waves were considered a public trust and those who used them were expected to act in the publics interest?
Remember when they could only be owned by U.S. Citizens and companies?
Remember when your local paper was actually your local paper?
But then these are only my opinions and I only know what they let me see in the news.
